The Rhisotope Project: Treatment information and booking form

Important to note:

  1. No rhinos with horns under a minimum of 15cm from the base plate may be treated.
  2. Pregnant cows or cows with calves under 6 months can only be treated if they have been immobilised for another veterinary reason.
  3. Animals that have been dehorned more than a year before the proposed insertion date can be considered for isotope insertion, but will have to be on a case-by-case basis.
  4. All animals need to have completed rhodis kits.

Baseline costing starts at $1500/ animal for a 5-year period. Costing can be adjusted accordingly depending on the scope and the number of rhinos that need to be treated, as well as the resources provided by the reserve.
